Lowney Associates provided environmental and geotechnical services during design and construction of the $11.75 million remodel of Santa Clara University's Leavey Center, formerly known as Toso Pavilion. Phase 1 work included installation of deep, concrete caisson foundations to support the new roof structure, and installation of a new glass window wall around the arena. Phases 2 to 4 included a new entryway and plaza, new interior improvements such as locker rooms and exercise facilities, 25,000 square feet of additional office space, 1,200 new spectator seats, and a new outdoor aquatic center. The arena now holds approximately 5,000 spectators. The developer is Milpitas-based Devcon Construction, the largest general building contractor based in Silicon Valley.
