EPA Approval Facilitated for Union City Brownfield

Over three decades of experience and over 8,000 projects completed illustrate TRC Lowney's excellent understanding of geotechnical and environmental conditions in California. TRC Lowney's experience includes mixed-use developments, levees, housing developments, reservoirs, R&D buildings, parking structures, hospitals, bridges, schools, office buildings, universities, and high tech campuses.

The City of Union City was privileged to receive one of a limited number of EPA-funded grants to investigate and, if needed, clean up a Union City brownfield. The site is a former meatpacking plant and is slated to be redeveloped with single or multi-family homes and recreational areas. The City retained TRC Lowney to prepare a Sampling and Analysis Plan when the original environmental consultant was not successful in gaining EPA approval. TRC Lowney's Plan was approved by the EPA. TRC Lowney also will oversee demolition of the plant's remaining structures, perform a physical survey of the site, and conduct a Phase II environmental site characterization.
