Lowney Associates is providing geotechnical engineer of record services for
a TRC $31.3 million Exit Strategy® contract.
TRC was retained by a group of industrial clients for the remediation and
closure of the former 88-acre GBF/Pittsburg Landfill. TRC's Exit Strategy®
program allows clients to outsource their environmental compliance obligations
forever by fully transferring the liability risk to TRC. For the GBF/Pittsburg
Landfill, TRC contracted to remediate environmental impacts caused by the
landfill, implement a final closure, and provide ongoing landfill maintenance
and monitoring. Lowney, a TRC company, is providing geotechnical and geologic
consultation and support for the design and construction of the on-site soil
borrow area and storm water detention basin. A comprehensive insurance and
risk management program was structured with AIG Environmental. In addition
to insuring against potential cost increases, TRC also provided financial
assurance, as required by state agencies.
