Lowney Associates provided geotechnical engineering services for design of a six-story, steel-framed office building with three levels of below grade concrete-frame parking. Our geotechnical team evaluated and explored the site surface and subsurface conditions. We presented shallow foundation recommendations and limited waterproofing recommendations to mitigate the high water table. A brief qualitative evaluation of certain geologic hazards such as fault rupture, ground shaking, liquefaction, differential compaction, and lateral spreading was also performed. Seismic design criteria were provided for use in structural design. Lowney Associates provided observation and testing services during construction. The architect was Korth Sunseri Hagey Architects.
