TRC Lowney has completed geotechnical design services for the new Acqua Hotel, located on the Redwood Highway Frontage Road adjacent to Richardson Bay in Mill Valley. The project included redevelopment of a partially abandoned retail center with a three-story, 50-room hotel and a two-story office building, both of wood frame construction. Difficult site conditions included stability concerns along the bay and deep Bay Mud underlain by steeply sloping bedrock. TRC Lowney Associates also provided construction observation and testing services on this challenging site.
